Effective Acne Treatment by Sun Exposure

Everyone needs the sun to be healthy, owing to vitamin D, which is required for healthy bones. Many people believe that tanning is an effective treatment for acne. However, excessive solar activity can affect the skin negatively causing inflammation of acne and other skin deceases.

The sun tan is really effective in the prevention of acne, but only in small portions. If you want to be in the sun for longer time, it may result in dry skin and cause an excess of produced oil, and blocked pores. Acne inflammation is not necessarily an immediate process, so most people do not associate sun exposure with acne outbreaks, which usually happen a few days later.

For patients using acne treatments based on benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, it would be the best to wear sunscreen, which may keep the pores open. Oil-free sunscreen SPF 15 to 35 will effectively protect from UVA and UVB rays. benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can both dry the skin slightly and make it more vulnerable to ultraviolet radiation.
